Finland's Independence declared Finland was given the incredible opportunity to withdraw from Russian rule surrounding the time during the first world war. Finland suffered severely in the recurring wars between Sweden and Russia. In 1696 famine wiped out almost a third of the population. They knew they wanted to get out of the mess and so they did all they could to take for granted, this great opportunity and to attain that independence. Because of this times would change forever, Finland finally after years of trying, declared their independence from the russian republic. In 1917 the Russian Revolution allowed Finland to declare their country's independence. By declaring their independence the governmental decisions made would be forever changed and they would now be viewed as a separate country with their own rights and laws. They had been fighting for their independence for quit some time up until the early 1900s. There was multiple wars fought, and through the consistent efforts of the government, the soldiers, and the people, Finland now was deemed an independent country, and every last one of these people were appreciative that their efforts came out with the desired results.. There were relations with the West, especially Sweden and Britain, but even more the Soviet Union, after becoming independent the Soviet Union was not nearly as involved or has as much power as the years passed and we fell into the later years. This not only would affect the Finnish people but those of the Soviet, awaiting the peace they longed for within their country.. Not not only the country as a whole would benefit from this highly worked for independence, but also would change things in smaller ways.. Now even businesses would see the benefit of being apart of an independent country and the economy would soon boom. They now recognize December 6th as their independence day, as there milestone to life changing series of events ahead, of independance.
Emersion of new dominant religion influences finnish language In the early 16th century there was a major historical event that took place in Finland that would greatly influence both Finnish religion , culture, and language. This change was brought about when the catholic church was replaced by Lutheran faith. This was caused by the reformation in which Luther brought about. He introduced his ideas and his outlook on life. The things of which he believed in and was passionate about was accepted widely and the support of his church. Known as the lutheran church began to truly sprout. The Lutheran church also came and swept in quickly after the swedish reformation came about also. This presented much dominance to the country. Not only did this change the country in terms of religion, but language. In 1548 the Bishop of Turku, also known as Mikael Agricola translated The New Testament, into Finnish, which brought the Reformation to Finland and created written Finnish. The entire Bible appeared in Finnish in 1642.This made an influence on the Finnish language and introduced many new ideas. The new dominant religion was lutheranism, which is still practiced as the highest practiced religion in Finland today. They now incorporate this language through more than just their bible. The finnish language grew and evolved over time creating an emersion of a new religion because of this finnish language. They now have an extremely developed language, full of history and meaning. They also know are very strong in the lutheran language. As you can see this event in history deemed to create a pathway which brought about many future lifestyles. The style of how people live within the country, the things they take hold in believing, and the language they use each and every day. Because of these things this helps add to the individuality of the country and makes it its own and very unique, it makes it Finland.
